Jun 09, 2024

The Huawei Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition has been launched in China. The new Huawei smartwatch features offline positioning and clarity during video calls. The Watch 5 Vitality Edition is already on sale in China.

Huawei’s latest iteration of its Children’s Watch series comes with a mecha-style design. It has a hollowed-out silicone strap which could catch the fancy of kids. The smartwatch supports 10-fold AI positioning which extends to real-time positioning. It is based on Huawei’s NLP algorithm, combined with multi-source map fusion positioning. The AI architecture enables the Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition to be more accurate in frequently used locations. It supports indoor positioning, delimiting safe areas, historical trajectory query, setting school time, and more.

The Huawei Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition can be used for smooth video calls from the watch to other devices. You can shake the watch to add friends and also use the WeChat children’s watch version or QQ children’s feature. It supports Alipay and WeChat payment QR codes, while parents can set the limit. The Huawei Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition is rated IPX8 life-grade waterproof protection.

The watch has an AI visual evaluation algorithm that can be used to evaluate a child’s back, shoulder, and armpit inclination angles. It helps to give an overall evaluation result and interpretation suggestions.

The Huawei Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition is priced in China at 608 yuan (~$85). It is available in a few colorways including red and blue. The smartwatch can be purchased from retail platforms like JD.com. Huawei has not indicated whether the Children’s Watch 5 Vitality Edition will be available in other markets.
